Tell me about your weekend. Share pics!

This weekend was really fun. Friday after practice my friends from the volleyball team (Whitney, Abby, and Whitney) went to the Pink Out football game and had a great time. After the game Abby and I hung out with our friends Erik and John at my house. Saturday I had to work the sophomore volleyball tournament at 7:30 in the morning, but after I went home, slept, then got Chipotle with my sister since she's in town from college. I then went to my grandma's and then went out to dinner with my friend Blake at Winstead's and hung out with him for a while! Sunday my family and I wet to the Louisberg Cider Mill and then my sister, cousin, and I went shopping all day, and lastly I had volleyball practice at 8 that night.

What kind of background do you have with Photoshop? Have you used it before? What other types of design and editing software have you used before? Explain.

I have absolutely no background with Photoshop. I have tried to work it before but it never ends up well and I have no idea how to work or use it. I never really use deign or editing software, so this is all very new to me.

Below is a letter written to the editor who wrote the article 'Enforcement of dress code creates negative effect' that your blogged about last week. Most of you wrote on your blog that you agreed with the writer. What are your thoughts after reading the letter below and seeing a different perspective. Are they the same? Are the different? Do you agree? Disagree? Explain yourself.

I still agree with Riley's article. While I do think you make a good point, if the school wanted a higher of standard for dress code and wanted to prepare us and have us look "(semi) professional, then make us wear things like CAPS does. Otherwise, you should be allowed to wear whatever you want, respectfully. In college there aren't clothing guidelines unless it's for a specific class. So by making us wear certain things, it is really just making us seem like we are children. Also, your article relates more to the staff who don't really have a problem with the dress code because you are adults and you can't wear some of he things high schoolers can, and also, you are at a job, not a student. So while both articles make good points, I still agree with everything Riley said, and I'm glad it has received a lot of attention.

The perfect curriculum would be just living life normally and learning from it. Different classes would be different life experiences, and you could choose which ones you want to take based on how you want to live your life. I would actually enjoy going to school and classes would be way different because we most likely wouldn't have homework and it would just be like living life.

The following article was in the September issue of The Tiger Print. Read the article (even if you already have) and respond to it below. What do you think? Do you agree? Disagree? Consider all perspectives of the article while you respond.

I agree with this article 100%. I am very tall and have very long arms, so the thumb rule for me would be almost to my knees. I think girls should be allowed to wear whatever they want, rrespectively If your butt is hanging out, then you should probably get a little longer shorts. But if you have a cute pair of high-waisted shorts that cover everything, you should be allowed to wear them, regardless if they look short or not. As for dresses and shirts, I think the spaghetti strap rule is completely unfair. As long is its not strapless, I think you should be able to wear whatever kind of shirt you want. Shoulders should not be that distracting, and if they are, then that is the guys' problem, not ours. I think it was about time somebody wrote about the dress code and I think her article was perfect.

Tell me about your weekend! If you don't have anything fun to share, tell me about the city you live in. What do you love about Kansas City? Do you have a favorite place in the city? Favorite team? :) Favorite event? Explain.

I had a pretty fun and rough weekend at the same time. Friday I had practice and then went out to dinner with my friends Alexis and Erik and we got Chipotle, then went to Sweet Caroline's to get ice cream. Saturday we had the Joan Wells tournament, which we placed 3rd in. After my tournament, I hung out with my friends Alexis and Abby and we got Winstead's, picked up my sister from my brothers football game, got Sweet Caroline's (again), then went back to my house and chilled in the basement. Erik came over once we got home and then my friend Blake and his friend James showed up later and hung out for a little bit. Sunday I did my practice SAT tests, went over to my grandma's, hung out with family and friends for the Royals game, and celebrated my best friend Abby's birthday! We ended up going to Sweet Caroline's (yes, for the third time) and then just hung out. So minus a few other things that happened this weekend, it was a pretty good one to say the least.
